Official rules for the 6th Lake Garda Marathon
The Lake Garda Marathon amateur sports
association, registered with FIDAL code n. TN 503, in cooperation with the
FIDAL of the Trentino Province and the national FIDAL federation, has organized
for October 13, 2013, the seventh edition of the Lake Garda Marathon, which has
been inserted in the International 42,195 km calendar.
Eligibility
Anyone 18 or older on October 13, 2013,
can participate.
At the time of
registration, Italian athletes must demonstrate that they are enrolled in FIDAL
or in another National Sports Federation that is recognized by CONI and has an
agreement with FIDAL. In the second case, the athletes are still required to
send in a medical certificate declaring fitness for competitive sports.
Italian and foreign athletes who are not enrolled in FIDAL or in other
national sports federations that are recognized by FIDAL must accompany their
entry form with a medical certificate declaring fitness for competitive sports.
These same Italian and foreign athletes are required to have a FIDAL day
pass that must be picked up in Limone sul Garda on October 13 and 14, 2012.
The cost of the day
pass is 7 (seven) euro, which must be paid when picking up the bib number.
The Organizing Committee reserves the
right to make changes to the procedures and amounts for the FIDAL daily pass
for athletes who are not FIDAL members, based on FIDAL notifications.
Athletes who are
non-residents and not enrolled in sports associations in Italy must present, at
the time of registration, a medical certificate – prepared according to the
current laws in their country regarding health matters – that declares fitness
for competitive sports.

Registration refund
The registration fee is nonrefundable.
If the enrolled athlete cannot participate in the event, the organization
offers these alternatives:
• 1) transfer of the registration to another person
(call the organization by phone at 0039 - 041 - 990320 by Septemberr 30, 2013,
to provide details).
• 2) confirmation of registration for the 2014 event, by
September 30, 2013.
In these cases, please contact the
organization office directly, calling phone number 0039 – 041 – 990320, which
will give you all the details for the change. Please bear in mind that an
office fee of 10 euro will be applied to any type of change.
The registration fee
includes:
• race bib
• insurance and medical assistance
• refreshments along the route personal
• belongings transported from the starting line to the
finish line (in the special bag provided by the organization)
• post-race transportation by ferryboat from Torbole sul
Garda to Malcesine (schedules and programs will be available on the website and
included in the goody bag).

Bib numbers
Bib numbers will be given according to
the best personal time declared by entrants.
The lower numbers that put athletes into
the first starting grid will be given to top runners. The bibs will have a
special number and color corresponding to the starting grid. The bib must be
attached to the front of the race jersey and be visible. If the writing on the
bib is hidden for any reason, the runner risks disqualification.

Procedure for race bib
and goody bag pick-up.
All athletes must remember that in order
to pick up the race bib and goody bag, they must hand in the registration
confirmation letter that Timing Data Service will directly send to athletes who
have enrolled.
The confirmation letter must be dated
and signed by the athlete.
Athletes who are unable to pick up their
bibs can delegate the task to another person by filling out the special form
sent with the registration conformation and accompanying it with a copy of the
runner’s identity document.
When they pick up their bib, athletes
are required to present their FIDAL membership card (or card of another
federation or organization) and to hand in a copy of the medical certificate
attesting to fitness for competitive sports, as mentioned in the paragraph referring
to participation requisites.
Personal belongings
pick-up service
The organization will have a personal
belongings transportation service for all runners.
Transportation staff
can only pick up bags prepared by the organization that all runners will find
in their goody bag.
These bags will be
marked with the runner’s bib number to simplify return of the belongings, which
will occur only after the bib number has been checked. Do not use the bag for
valuable objects. While the organization guarantees a professional
transportation service, it takes no responsibility for any lost objects and
will make no reimbursement.
The schedule for the personal belongings pick-up
service will be added .
Departure.
The start of Lake Garda Marathon is
scheduled for 09:40 from Malcesine.
All applicants must reach the area of
departure by 08:30.
Access to the starting grid will be
carried out from 08:30 to 09:15.
All athletes must in any case go under
the archway departure after the start, otherwise it will not be detected by the
system timing and will not be in the standings. We recall that the organization
has set up a dedicated area in the start area to the locker room area, bathrooms
and parking area.
Anyone wishing to arrive by their own
means will have to keep in mind that the road between Torbole and Malcesine
will be closed at 07:30.
Timekeeping service
Timekeeping procedures follow IAAF-FIDAL
rules. The TDS chip system will be used for timekeeping, processing of data,
and preparation of the classification. Runners not wearing the chip will not be
clocked and their times will not be inserted in the classification.
Intermediate times
will be made available and the runners’ positions can be tracked through the
Live Tracking System on the website www.lakegardamarathon.com.
After finishing the
race, the chip must be handed back to staff. If the chip is not returned, the
athlete will not be inserted in the final classification. Race officials will
disqualify athletes who do not pass the tracking points along the route.

Medical assistance and
refreshments
There will be refreshment stations with
water and sports drinks every 5 km and sponge stations starting at the 12.5 km
mark and then every 5 km. Medical assistance is guaranteed by doctors on motorcycles
all along the route.
Medical staff and
ambulances for any emergency are stationed at the 10, 20, and 30 km marks and at
the starting and finish lines.
Maximum time limit
• Maximum time limit for the half marathon (21.097 km):
3 hr
• Maximum time limit at the 30 km mark: 4 hr 30 min
• Maximum time limit for the finish: 6 hr
After these times, the organization
cannot guarantee the complete closing of the route, and athletes will be
obliged to observe the Highway Code.
The clean-up crew will close the race
and assist the last contestants.
Start of the race
The start of the Lake Garda Marathon will be at 9:40
a.m. from Malcesine. All runners must reach the starting line area by 8:30 a.m.
Access to the starting grid will be between 8:30 and 9:15 a.m. An obligatory
route to the starting line area will be provided: if everyone follows these
instructions, the start will be simplified and quickly organized. All athletes
must pass under the arch of the starting line: otherwise, they will not be
detected by the timekeeping system and will not be included in the
classification.
The organization will
have an area set up in the starting line zone with dressing rooms, toilets, and
a parking area.
Anyone who intends to
arrive aboard his or her own transportation must remember that the road from
Malcesine to Torbole will be closed at 7:30 a.m.
Sunday, October 13, 2013 at .50 06 will
start from Torbole sul Garda (arrival area) the ferry capacity of Brenner n°
1000 people, with destination Malcesine (starting area).
The usage is free and is reserved
exclusively to athletes enrolled in possession or bracelet (worn) delivered to
the chest or withdrawal of registration confirmation letter to exhibit.
You may not use by staff even pay you
ask politely to park their vehicles in the parking provided and arrive in time
in boarding area.
Toilets – showers –
dressing roomsi
Toilets will be located in the starting
and finish line areas. Showers and dressing rooms will be near the finish line
area.
Finish line area
The finish line is on the beach of
Torbole sul Garda. After crossing the finish line, the athletes must follow an
obligatory route that includes chip collection and personal belongings reclaim
area. A final refreshment area will also be set up in a well-marked area.
Results and awards
Official times will be published on the
website www.lakegardamarathon.com The top 5 men and top 5 women in the final
standings will receive awards. For official information about prizes, please
check the website www.lakegardamarathon.com All payments will be made by March
31, 2014 and are subject to tax provisions required by law.

Complaints
Any complaint must be presented in
writing to the marathon judge within 30 minutes of the end of the race,
accompanied by a fee of 30 euros, which will be reimbursed if the complaint is
accepted.
Final notice
The organizing committee reserves the
right to modify these rules at any time to improve organization of the event.
All changes concerning
the marathon, events, schedules, locations, and so on will always be published
on the official website www.lakegardamarathon.com
All the latest information
will be provided, at any rate, when the goody bag and race bib are handed out.

Declaration of responsibility
By registering for the Lake Garda
Marathon the participant declares to be aware of and accept the rules for the
event which are available in PDF format under the heading “Rules” on the
website www.lakegardamarathon.com. The participant also declares to be 18 or
older as of October 14, 2012, to abide with all laws in Italy for the
protection of athletes’ health, and to accept all aspects of the declaration of
responsibility listed below.
Declaration of
responsibility statement
With this signature, I hereby declare
that I am fully aware of and acknowledge the fact that the event scheduled on
October 13, 2013, might be hazardous to my health. I know that I should not
register and participate if I do not have a clean bill of health or am not
athletically prepared. If my registration is accepted, I assume full
responsibility for all risks connected with my participation in this event,
including any accidents linked to travel to and from the event. I completely
exonerate from all liability the event organizers, sponsors, various volunteer
groups, and any other public or private subject involved in organizing this
event, and I fully aware that the organization cannot be held liable for any
episode or claim caused by the negligence of the various parties.
According to Law n.
196 of June 30, 2003 (Privacy Law), the organization hereby declares that the
personal data collected will be exclusively used to prepare the participants
list, various classifications, and the archive. The same data may be used to
send informative materials from the organization or its partners. By
registering, the participant hereby authorizes the organization to use the
images for promotion of the event on all national and international media.

Garda Run 30 km
Associazione sportiva dilettantistica
named Lake Garda Marathon with Fidal TN 503 code in cooperation with Fidal

Requirements for
participation:
Open to all those who have reached 18
years of age by 13.10.2013.
