The expo is open to the general public; admission is free. Bring friends and family to shop at the Marathon Store presented by ASICS and visit more than 100 vendors and exhibitors from around the world for souvenirs, product samples, race applications, health and medical advice, activities, and more.
Attendees may be asked to show photo I.D., and all bags and coats may be inspected. There is no baggage storage available, and NYRR is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Number Pickup
• Marathon entrants must visit the expo to pick up their registration materials.
• Your registration card can be downloaded and printed from your Entrant Login page; you must print out a copy and bring it with you to the expo. No smartphone versions of the registration card will be accepted.
• You must pick up your race materials in person with acceptable photo identification (see below) at the expo. We do not mail materials, distribute them at New York Road Runners, or give them out on race day.
• Residents of the United States and Puerto Rico must show state or federal government-issued photo identification, such as a driver’s license or passport. Non-U.S. residents, including Canadian residents, must to show a valid passport; national identification cards are not accepted.
• You will pick up your race number/B-Tag, baggage sticker, instructions, and official clear UPS race-day baggage bag. On race day, this bag will serve as your official baggage bag; you will not be able to enter Fort Wadsworth with any other bag.
• The Help Desk in the registration area will accept cancellations and will be able to update your personal information and resolve any other questions.
• Please fill out the medical information on the back of your race number/B-Tag.

• NYRR Road to the Finish Marathon Theater Presented by ING
This exciting new cinematic experience at the expo showcases the 26.2-mile
journey of the ING New York City Marathon. Filmed in a 360° panoramic style
reflecting the runner’s viewpoint, the experience follows the famed blue line
through the five boroughs to the finish line in Central Park. In addition to
educating runners about the course, the narrated experience will include
appearances by guest commentators. The film will be shown for free at multiple
times daily at the expo.
• Marathon Eve Dinner ticket sales – US$40 for marathoners, friends, and family, subject to availability
• Marathon Store Presented by ASICS – ING New York City Marathon and ASICS co-branded clothing, souvenirs, and gifts.
• Marathon souvenirs – Special licensed merchandise (runner photos/DVDs, commemorative shadow boxes), Honor Your Marathoner Collection created by Tiffany & Co., and more.
• ING Runner’s Nation Pace Teams Powered by TIMEX – Visit this booth to learn more about how to run an evenly paced marathon by joining a pace team on November 6. Led by experienced marathoners, teams are open to runners looking to achieve goal finishing times ranging from 3:15 to 5:30. Pace Team leaders will be assigned to every wave start. There is no registration requited and participation is free. Pace bands will be distributed at the booth while supplies last.
• An expo activity schedule will be posted in late October.
Free expo shuttle buses to and from select hotels and transit hubs, including Penn Station and Grand Central Terminal, will operate during the following hours:

New for 2011, marathon entrants must select their Official Transportation departure location and time. Assignments will be made on a first-come, first-served basis.
Official Transportation is free to all entrants, but entrants must select their departure location and time in order to receive an Official Transportation assignment. Entrants who do not need Official Transportation should select “Do Not Need Transportation” on the application.
Athletes with disabilities (AWDs), including wheelchair and handcycle entrants, will receive instructions at expo check-in regarding their special Transportation to the Start.

The ING New York City Marathon recognizes competitive males and females in a number of categories including: open division* age-group divisions (ages 18-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-89, 90-99 unisex award), NYRR member division (open, ages 18-39; and masters, age 40+), wheelchair division, and handcycle category.
Athletes who have served a doping suspension lasting six months or more are not eligible for prize money, time bonuses, or appearance fees in any category, unless an exception has been made by New York Road Runners in advance of the start of the race.
The first three male and female runners in the open division, as well as the first place male and female finishers in the wheelchair division, receive the Samuel Rudin Trophy, a silver tray designed by Tiffany & Co. and presented by the Rudin Family. Other top finishers in the open division and top finishers in various other divisions receive awards designed by Tiffany & Co.
The guaranteed prize purse for the ING New York City Marathon 2011 will total more than $650,000.
All prize money categories are for men and women unless otherwise indicated. Order of finish for prize money will be determined by gun time.

New York Road Runners since May 6, 2011, and must have completed at least six
fully scored races conducted by NYRR for the period November 1, 2010 through
October 30, 2011. Fully scored races are those in which every finisher is
timed. Only women competing in the all-women’s professional race are eligible
for NYRR member prize money, except masters (40+) runners.
